6 Days Family/Group Holiday Tour

Day 1: Arrival at Kigali International Airport

When you arrive at the Kigali International Airport (KIA), you will be met and picked by an experienced and welcoming driver guide fully dressed in Mahali Africa attire. The driver guide will take you through Kigali’s beautiful scenery as you proceed to your hotel in Musanze. The maximum journey time from the airport is 2hrs 30 Minutes to your booked hotel within Musanze. Accommodation at Five Volcanoes.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking at Volcanoes national park

After your breakfast at your hotel in Musanze, our driver guide will drive to the Volcanoes National Park, where all Gorilla trekking activities will begin at 7:00 am in the morning. Gorilla trekking includes climbing and hiking as you move closer and watch live gorillas including the younger ones as they soothingly play with each other and give you a live and lifetime experience. You will now have a chance to take pictures of gorillas with your camera flash mode disabled. After an hour or so with mountain gorillas, you will be driven back to your hotel for lunch and other refreshments where you will eventually dine and spend a night. Accommodation at Five Volcanoes.

Day 3: Dian Fossey Research Centre Exploration

Early morning breakfast, you will visit Dian Fossey Research Centre also known as the Karisoke research Center from the combination of two names of Volcanoes namely Kalisimbi and Bisoke, Dian Fossey was an American primatologist and conservationist known for undertaking an extensive study of mountain gorilla groups from 1966. She studied them daily in the Volcanoes Mountains’ forests of Rwanda, the natural habitat of gorillas. You will also get a chance to see Dian’s grave yard. Accommodation and meals at Five Volcanoes Hotel. 

Day 4: Safari Drive to Nyungwe Forest & Golden Monkey trekking

Today, you will spend your time searching for beautiful golden monkeys in Nyungwe Forest. With the guide, you’ll track the monkeys and spend some time with them as they playfully jump from tree to tree. After golden monkey tracking, you will be driven back to your hotel for lunch and overnight. Accommodation and meals at One and Only Nyungwe House.

Day 5: Nyungwe Chimps Trekking Experience

After breakfast, you will start your day hiking through Nyungwe forest and spend time with the chimpanzees playfully staring at each other in the close proximity. You will have a chance to see other animals such as grey-cheeked mangabeys, Angolan Columbus, among others. Accommodation will be at One and Only Nyungwe House.

Day 6: Departure

Today after your breakfast and check-out, you will be driven back to Kigali International Airport where you will catch your next flight back home.
